We are very happy to let you know we have increased our range of Eco-Garden products in our shop.As the weather warms up fruit fly will be more of a nuisance so we have traps and wicks for male flies as well as an attractant for the female flies.
If anyone of you would be interested in an Organic Gardening talk by Neil (who was a certified organic farmer for fifteen years) please let Neil know whether you would like a weekend (during the day) or a night during the week. Then a venue and dates can be arranged.
Summer Gardening
If you still have vegies growing now summer's here, you must be doing a very good job.
By this time of the year, I try to have finished picking and have legumes planted. Hopefully have a good leaf cover so to keep the soil as cool as possible.
This is the time of the year to be thinking about, or getting ready for winter vegetables. If you have some ground already dug up, now would be a good time to spread some rock dust (as I mentioned last issue). It has 60 different minerals and the major ones (calcium, magnesium and potassium) are in small amounts.
I thought I would talk about soil aeration this time. By now some vegetable gardens would be growing well. One of the things I have found is if the soil is not loosened up around the plant regularly it can become compacted by watering or by the gardeners feet.
